Biography

Kenn Munk was born in 1974 in Kolding, Denmark not far from Legoland. After finishing high school, he went to London from 1993 to 1994 where his time off from a job at McDonalds was spent sipping free coffee refills at Dunkin Donuts, reading 2000AD, Judge Dredd - The Megazine, Deadline magazine and sketching. He took up photography and decided to go for a career in graphic design.

Returning to Denmark, Kenn Munk enrolled in an animation course and in 1995 he enrolled in design college. After graduation he returned to London for a position at an advertising agency, but left within a week. Back in Denmark, he found a job at a middle-of-the-road advertising agency that convinced him to start his own business on the side - a business that slowly grew until the end of 2006 when he left the agency to run his own company full time.

Kenn's area of work has expanded to marketing, font design, toy design, teaching, and social design and in toy circles he is best known for his custom work that started off being random ideas and hommages to movie characters but has since moved a seperate way, focusing on purely black and white, stylistic designs - culminating in his solo show "Every Thing is Black or White".
