Biography

Early in his career, Ralph Cosentino worked as a PR representative for the Dolly Madison Bakery Company. His duties included wearing a vile smelling “Snoopy” costume outside local stores to attract customers. He was often seen on sides of streets waving to folks, even though he was being flipped off and cursed at by traffic he held his composure and was determined to make Charles Schultz proud ( he was a consummate professional ). Ralph’s challenges then included dodging rocks and deflecting physical abuse from passerby’s, mostly children. He now hates and cringes at the site of “Zingers”.

Ralph also worked for various advertising agencies and held a post as Art Director of Learning Horizons, a children’s educational supplemental products company at American Greetings. He has also done development work for Warner Bros., Disney, Cartoon Network, and Revolution Studios. His characters including Honk-Honk-Ashoo have been licensed by toy companies and sold as toy lines in Target. His self-produced Kaiju Kidz toys from his company U.F.O. Toys quickly sold out at retailers such as Kid Robot and Tower Records. He currently works as a Senior Designer at Hallmark Cards where he creates characters and flash animated e-cards. Ralph is the author and illustrator of various children’s books including “The Story of Honk-Honk-Ashoo and Swella-Bow-Wow”, “The Marvelous Misadventures of Fun-Boy”, and the recently published “Batman The Story of The Dark Knight.” He is currently working on a Superman picture book with Wonder Woman soon to follow.

He lives in Kansas with his wife, Lisa, their three children and their two dogs, Argus & Elwood. Ralph hopes someday to return to Argentina and become a gaucho.
