Biography

Being born on Friday 13th has unsurprising lent a somewhat gloomy edge to Matt’s artwork. He has successfully dodged the falling pianos, and in time developed a distinctive dark blend of the weird and wonderful and worked it into numerous art projects across the creative industry.

With a wild imagination that knows no boundaries, Matt has illustrated comics and animations, written books and exhibited personal artwork across the UK, US and Europe. Within his paintings and sculptures he elevates outcasts and underdogs, beauties and beasts. Each creation usually has a twisted tale to tell and is often sprinkled with dark humor, wild romanticism and sometimes a sense of pathos.

Matt has been an avid fan of the art toy world for many years, but has only recently thrown his own hat into the ring. Through his Pickled Circus alias, he now brings his one-of-a-kind figures to life. So roll up ladies and gents for the most curious collection of characters you ever did see!
