Skullboy is the creation of Jacob Chabot, winner of the Dark Horse contest, New Recruits, where they received hundreds of comics submissions from around the world. Skullboy was overwhelmingly popular. From that contest stemmed a trade paper-back consisting of the top six contestants, and from there they printed The Mighty Skullboy Army Volume 1.
